A RARE 3.1/2" CIRCA 1925 HARDY SILEX MULTIPLIER (HFR445)

£2299.00

The best example I have seen of this rare multiplying Hardy Silex 3.1/2"
This rare reel is totally original and unflawed, this is a prime collectable reel but would be fun to use
This multiplier works as if it came out of its box, "perfectly"
The foot is full length, and there are no cracks or line burns to the frame

A RARE 2.3/4" HARDY SILEX MULTIPLLIER, WITH OIL PIPE CIRCA 1925 (HFR915)

£1349.00

A very rare oil pipe Silex multiplier in all round original excellent condition.
The reel is from 1925 and very similar to fig 224 of page 262 on John Drewett's book Hardy Brothers
As on that pictures both reels suffer from the same fault a hairline next the locking screw near finger lever hard to see because so fine.
These little anomalies happened through over tightening screws.
Very rare collector's piece.

Postage and insurance £11

A HARDY 3.1/4" SUPER SILEX MULTIPLIER (HFR274)

£999.00

A unique 3.1/4"super silex multiplyer, this reel was made in two periods, the silex was 1928-35 and then the multiplyer aspect was added during the war years hence war time paint finish on extra gear housing.
The reel functions perfectly, and has no cracks or line burns to the frame, the ribbed foot is full length.
I have another reel which has the same principle, a super silex with multiplyer interior, but no extra gear housing.
I suggest the main body of the reel was made pre war, with multiplyer internal fittings and gearing and and then adapted into a full multiplyer later.
This reel is for a Hardy enthusiast.
The spool is non-ventilated in the core.

A VERY RARE HARDY SILEX, NUMBER 2 PROTOTYPE WITH A ROTATING LINE GUIDE (HFR211)

£775.00

This reel is specific to the Hardy Silex collector Stamped W internally and two circles in the back plate which denotes Dingley's work
I believe this to be the developmental work on making a lightweight spool and early components of the major and experimental line guides
The reel is stamped Silex number 2 and pat number 2206
The spool was sparked from to much silica or poor alloy blend, the spool is not corroded
There is one handle missing, and the foot is full length, the arbour is 1.3/8th inch wide again unusual
