MUSKEGON RIVER, MICHIGAN - IN AUTUMN 2014,
My name is Andy Doherty, and have practiced game fishing since boyhood and being based in the North West of Northern Ireland, it is no surprise to have developed a real passion for salmon and trout fishing.
Inevitably this love of fishing has evolved into an addiction for collecting vintage fishing tackle.
This all-consuming hobby of many years has led to me being involved in the valuation of period tackle such as products from Allcock's, Hardy's, Young's, Malloch, carved fish and taxidermy etc, on a daily basis, where I continuously search for these and other rare items, consequently the volume of merchandise that I have acquired in Ireland has led to the creation of this website during 2008.
I wish to assure potential purchasers that I will warrant my product's description and give an honest, detailed appraisal of the physical condition thereof drawing upon my considerable experience. Obviously as with all antiques, pricing reflects condition.
So feel reassured and relaxed in your choosing. Either me or my daughter Sarah will endeavor to satisfy any queries that you may have, please feel free to contact us.
We have recently begun a new venture - selling vintage salmon flies. Also starting out as a hobby - I love tying my own flies.
We have hundreds of vintage flies we have collected over the years from various auctions we've attended. We have sold a few Megan Boyd flies over the past few years, like many, we took even more of an interest after watching the movie about her life - "Kiss the Water."
We also are very lucky to have a small selection of the famous fly tier Davie McPhail's flies which he has tied especially for our website.
Only a very small portion of what we have is showing on our website, so if you are looking for anything in particular, hooks, vintage fly wallets etc, we may have it in our collection. We are only starting out with this website so it will take some time to bring it up to speed.
As we get many e-mails about having any Megan Boyd flies, we don't have any at present - we sold our last few last year, and they are very rare to come across.
Feel free to browse our website.
