• An extremely rare YOUNGS 3.!/2" diametre spinning reel in its even rarer early  WHEATLY horse shoe box
• This reel is a very rare collectors piece in original as new condition because it is without a casting /brake lever
  
• The reel is elegant and simple to cast disengage the pawl via the rear brass knob and the spool spins freely
• There is a rim mounted tension screw which increases tension on the pawl when engaged
  
• This is as rare as hens teeth especially in its purpose made wheatly box ,where recesses in the floor of the box are purposely positioned to acept the bell and pawl button on rear plate

• This reel is based upon the youngs 10a-l-c design but no lever
  

• Pristine WALKER BAMPTON dry fly reel stamped appropiately on rear
• Also stamped no3 internally and boasts the Ivory handle on the winding plate
  
• This early reel has all the Dingley hallmarks double bridged foot ,polished interior to spool etc
• This is one of the earliest Walker Bamptons I have come across

• This allows the reel to opperate as a centre pin or act as fly reel

• This reel is mint with small fine dings in places but rare in this 9/10 condition

• The reel is stamped 55 internally and there are no cracks or line burns present ,The foot is also stamped 5
  
• This is the best example of this style of reel I have had on any occasion
• There is one small casting flaw near a pillar but is virtually unnoticable and does not detract from appearance nor structure of the reel

• This twinhandled reel is unusual in the that the reel free spins and the the pawl is engaed to stop free spinning
• Also the spool rear has four spokes almost like an aerial reel
• Then finally we have the added nickle silver mounted line guard a uniqu addition to the reel
• very small blemish to frame near  line guide, does not effect reel but worth mentioning

• This early WALKER BAMPTON reel is as rare as hens teeth could this be a prototype utility reel du to the brass hook brake leaver
  
• This lever is original to this reel and has a rebate on top to accept the spring which is also engaged by the rim mounted tension guage
• this reel also can engage a ratchet through moving the sliding button on rear
• All in all an historic reel one for the collector with straight bar latch to front
• THE REEL FUNCTIONS correctly but has lost 70% of leaded finish  and there are two small stone dings on rim see pic 3

• Fantastic Wallace Watson unusual brake reel made by Walker Bampton makers
• Excellent condition ,unfiled foot and no line burns
• Reel can also act as Center Pin free spinning when certain levers are disengaged
• Twin Ivorine handles are perfect
• Internally nos 287 stamped along side a very delicate tension spring controlled by rim tension screw

• clever internal brake system felt pad sprung monted presses against spool drum
• wallace watson was experimental with brake /tension methods
• this reel is incredible quality and is free from flaws such as line burns etc

• A clean example of this used pridex reel ,unusual to find with its original box
• the reel could do with a clean but most paint work is intact with alittle loss on winding plate side edge
• otherwise a great medium arbour functional reel you certainly wont loose money on this as youngs becomes more collectable
